Reporting from another cursor-free-vip page (github.com/anantbhardwaj828/cursor-free-vip) and know that you are one of the contributors of the desktop app which has also very recently been updated. The .zip file on the page is detected as malware upon and failed to download even if a force download is done.

Hey, thanks for the heads up and for reporting this.

Just to clarify I am the owner of the original repository here. I would strongly recommend only downloading from this repo and not from any forks because other users can easily embed malware into forked versions and ship it themselves.

The project is a bit outdated now since Cursor removed their free trials but for anyone still using it please stick to releases from here only.

Everything is fully open source so you or any other AI can review the code yourself. I have a proven track record of not shipping harmful products and would never want to hurt my users.

Regarding that fork you mentioned (github.com/anantbhardwaj828/cursor-free-vip) the fact that their .zip is getting flagged as malware is exactly why I always warn against forks.

I did contribute to the desktop app updates in the past but the safe version is always right here in the main repo.
