Copilot Agent Mode
Body
Dear GitHub Copilot Team,
I hope you are doing well.
I previously used the GitHub Copilot Student plan. With the previous usage limits, I was able to manage my monthly quota effectively by spreading my usage throughout the month. This allowed me to work on my software projects consistently while also keeping my expenses under control.
However, after the recent changes to the usage limits, I noticed that my quota is exhausted in about 30 minutes of work. Once it is depleted, I have to wait until the following month for it to reset, which makes it very difficult to continue developing my projects.
To avoid this issue, I decided to purchase the GitHub Copilot Pro subscription. Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same problem. The premium requests are consumed very quickly, especially when using Agent Mode with models such as Claude Sonnet or Codex. As a result, even the Pro subscription is not sufficient for regular software development.
Could you please advise whether there are any recommended settings or best practices to significantly reduce token or premium request consumption while still being able to use the AI agents effectively?
I would also like to suggest reconsidering the current usage limits. Many developers rely on Agent Mode for real-world software development, and the current limits are exhausted much faster than expected, making it difficult to complete larger projects.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate the work your team has done on GitHub Copilot, and I hope there will be improvements that make it more practical for developers who depend on it every day.
Kind regards,
