AroundTheWorld is a completed, publicly archived Git scalability experiment whose maintainers report 166,951,712 generated timeline commits on its production history.

To our knowledge, it is the first publicly documented GitHub repository to report reaching 166 million commits and may currently be the public GitHub repository with the most commits. GitHub does not publish a global commit-count leaderboard, so these are transparent candidate-record claims rather than independently certified world records.
