This is driving me absolutely nuts. We have branches named "release/{version}" I open the branch picker and go to type "release" and it loads the README. I have done this about 5,000 times today. I am literally pulling my hair out. |

Yes, i noticed it too : ( Leave this in the Product Feedback section, the GitHub's UI team will patch it. In the meantime, as a quick workaround, try just pressing the 'w' key on your keyboard when looking at a repo. It's a built-in GitHub shortcut that opens the branch menu and usually auto-focuses the text box correctly |

I think this dropdown used to focus the branch name text input. I've been trying to get used to that change, but I still find myself doing this:
Can you autofocus the textbox when this opens?
I think the X button may be stealing focus (on accident?)
