Hi GitHub Community,
I’m facing an issue where my GitHub profile link returns 404 Not Found for other people when I share it:

I have double-checked the following:

• The username/URL is correct
• It still shows 404 in an incognito/private window
• It’s not related to private repositories (this is the profile page itself)
• It doesn’t seem to be a network/firewall issue on the viewer sideWhen I’m logged in, I don’t see any banner/warning about my account being flagged or restricted, so I’m not sure how to confirm if my account is blocked/flagged.
• Has anyone faced this before?

What should I check to confirm whether my account is restricted, and what is the right way to resolve it?

Hi,

This usually happens when the account is temporarily flagged, limited, or under review by GitHub systems even if the profile looks normal while logged in.

A few things you can check:

• Open your profile in an incognito window while logged out
• Verify that the account is not marked as private or suspended
• Check whether your email address is verified
• Try accessing the profile from another network/device
• Make sure there are no username changes still propagating through GitHub CDN/cache systems
