Mobile webpage issue.

I cant scroll down in licenses popup at repository creation on my android phone in mobile chrome browser requesting the desktop website version.

It looks like this is a known issue when using the desktop version of GitHub on mobile. The license popup isn’t optimized for mobile scrolling.

A few possible workarounds you can try:

• Instead of requesting the desktop site, use the mobile version of GitHub where the license selector works better.
• If you must use desktop mode, try rotating your phone to landscape – sometimes it enables scrolling inside the popup.
• Another option is to zoom out slightly and then drag inside the popup area with two fingers, which may trigger scrolling.
• As a last resort, you can create the repository without a license and add a LICENSE file manually afterwards.

On Android Chrome in desktop-site mode, the GitHub license popup is a scrollable modal, but Chrome doesn’t pass touch events correctly, so you can’t scroll with one finger.

Solutions:

• Use two-finger swipe inside the popup to scroll.

• Or temporarily disable desktop mode (mobile site doesn’t use the popup).

• If neither works, skip license selection during creation and later add it via “Add file → Add license” in the repository.

This is a UI limitation of Chrome’s desktop emulation on mobile, not your device.

On Android Chrome (desktop site mode), the GitHub repository creation page sometimes has a bug where the licenses popup (the big list of licenses) doesn’t scroll properly. This is because GitHub renders it inside a fixed modal, and Chrome mobile often blocks scroll gestures inside those elements.
